WINTER ICE STORM

Well this is what it looks like at my house today. No electricity for 8 hours, trees snapping, breaking and falling all over in the forest, the yard and the road. Shoveled icey snow two days in a row. Neighbors stuck in the ditch pulling them out with our suburban, shoveling snow off the road so another neighbor could make it up the hill beyond our house. Good day to stay home and work on projects again.

WINTER WONDERLAND

Good Wednesday morning January 18th. This is what we woke up to this morning. It snowed 18 inches overnight and we already had 6 inches. Yep that makes two feet of snow. We here in western Washington are not used to this snow stuff and living in the foothills makes it a bit sketchy for driving.

Just imagine an additional five 1940's satin wedding gowns along with the two you see here across the back of my spot. Yes they sold so fast we did not have anytime to take pictures of them. Romance was all around and shoppers were ready to buy valentines.

JUNK SALVATION

Yes I finally had the great opportunity to be part of the famous
"JUNK SALVATION". Can you believe I forgot my camera. Of course you can cause if you know me at all you know I just cannot seem to remember that I have a camera and if you are related to me you know I am always asking one of you to get me the pictures. All of you are probably tired of me when it comes to this issue. Anyway I had the good fortune of being across the way from Christa of "Chloe Rose". She has so graciously posted picutres of my sopt at "JUNK SALVATION", go here to check out her beautiful blog. To Move or not to Move

Moving seems to be what is going on at the antique mall where I have my spot. Thought long and hard about moving as a few larger spots have become available. I decided I like my spot and will stay put for the time being. This little spot is keeping me busy. Just as I am posting I got a call from the mall to let me know some of my larger pieces just sold so I had better be bringing new inventory soon. Whoo Hoo.

Freshened Up My Spot

A whole month has past since my last post. Wow time flies when your having fun hunting and gathering. Gathered up the contents of a small barn, been to a few estate sales, checked out a few thrift stores and the storehouse is overflowing. Now it is time to get busy and get things to my spots. Today I freshened up my spot in Centralia Washington at Vintage and New Mall. Now back to the storehouse for another load to be delivered later this week.

Every first Thursday in December our church hosts "An Evening in December". Each table is decorated by individual hostesses. It is so much fun to see how each hostess designs the table for the evening. This year at my table I used my favorite china "Blue Danube". I have been collecting since I was 16 years old and have never stopped loving it.

I just opened a new spot in Vintage and New Variety Mall at 310 N. Tower Centralia Washington. Just a few days in and already I have sales. I am so excited to be here. I am on the second floor of the Mall to the left and down the side first spot on the right. I will be bringing new items weekly.

Trees Trees Trees and More Trees

Thank you to all who have encouraged me with your delight in my sweater trees. Just been gathering wool sweaters, buttons and chair spindles for the last year not really sure just how I was going to use them but knew these goods were worthy of something great. I finally had a revalation in October and went to town creating. After their debut at 2nd Saturdayz I have had orders for more trees......... I have been busy. Thank goodness my mom is still with me as my assistant.

I had such a great time at this show. I could not have done any of it without the support of my family and my mom's labor of love. It was a pleasure to meet the "Junk Tribe" of 2nd Saturdayz I appreciate all the hard work and dedication of Linda Morrison and Deb Bock the promoters of this show. They were both so kind helpful and encouraging to me as a first timer to a show. Thank you to the vendors as well with their encouragement and compliments.
